Bull Trout Design

When doing research on one of my target species for 2012 I found that on the internet there’s really not much at all in the way of artwork of bull trout. This surprised me as they’re such a gnarly fish that have a lot of really neat features! Big kypes, prehistoric looking heads, olive/brown bodies with orange and white spots, and stark white edged fins! I do have to say it isn’t easy trying to match the colour of these fish. It took a lot of colour blending to get it to where I liked it! I think all in all it looks like a bull trout.

I added a design to it with some ink blot, drop shadows, outer glow, and of course font, just to dazzle the eye a bit. This inspired me to work on species plates in this style. So I think I’ll try and tackle this new endeavor.
